Earlier today, Ben gave you peak at the poster for THE KITE RUNNER, the Marc Forster directed and David Benioff scripted adaptation of the acclaimed Khaled Hosseini novel of the same name. The story centers on an Afghan-American living in California who returns to Afghanistan when he learns his childhood best friend has died and left a young son behind. If the Academy of Motion Picture Arts Association was a more accepting bunch or if the film had at least a couple of recognizable stars, this film may have been a major Oscar contender.
