Kristen Stewart would be interested in playing a Marvel/DC superhero

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

There is a lot of hate for Kristen Stewart out there. Whether you are a TWILIGHT hater or just not a fan of all the tabloid drama between her and former boyfriend Robert Pattinson, Stewart has become something of a pariah despite continually improving work on screen. With roles in smaller films like CAMP X-RAY and STILL ALICE, Stewart has begun to shed her TWILIGHT baggage and showcase herself as an actress.

So, naturally, when you are doing press for a serious awards contender like STILL ALICE, the media is going to ask you about whether you would be willing to take part in a superhero/comic book film. You know, because it is the logical line of questioning. So, being used to random questions, Stewart responded and gave an interesting answer.

“I love watching those movies,” she tells Yahoo Movies. “I would love to show people that I can do more than just be ‘Kristen Stewart’ in a different movie, in a different circumstance.” She notes her past role as Snow White in the big-budget fantasy adventure Snow White and the Huntsman could be a jumping off point for a superhero role. “I’m sure I could get on board with Captain America, you know what I mean?… It would just have to be the right thing.”

I found it nice that Kristen Stewart acknowledged that she has been typecast based on prior roles and would be willing to jump into something a little different. While I don’t think she is quite up to par to handle the title role in something like CAPTAIN MARVEL, I would not be completely opposed to her in a supporting role in any number of Marvel or DC projects. The question now becomes, which one would she be a fit for?
