One flick I’m actually looking forward to is Lars von Trier’s MELANCHOLIA, which we last told you about back in May. I mean come on, a flick about the end of the world with no more happy endings? Sh*t I’m already sold!
Well if you’re like me and you’re looking forward to MELANCHOLIA as well then today’s news should put a smile on your face. You see it was announced today over at Screen Daily that the epic disaster movie has officially started production in Trollhattan, Sweden. Shooting began on July 22nd and will last until September 8th. Plans are to release this shite early next Summer.
MELANCHOLIA follows the events that happen when a giant planet called Melancholia begins looming harmfully too close to Earth.
The film sports a pretty impressive cast that includes John Hurt, Kirsten Dunst (below), Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, Alexander Skarsgaard, Stellan Skarsgaard and Udo Kier. Not too shabby, huh? Hopefully some goods from MELANCHOLIA pop up soon! In the meantime keep it here for more on the project as we hear it!
