Last House Again?

The good folk over at Dread Central report today that a director is being looked for to handle a remake of Wes Craven’s classic LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. My basic reaction to that is what the f*ck? This is a flick that lives and dies on its gritty, in-your-face, unrelenting violence. The only thing more disturbing than the on screen elements is what the MPAA edits would demand these days.

I guess the remake of THE HILLS HAVE EYES with Alexandre Aja at the helm indicates that Craven isn’t looking to sanitize his originals for the WB audience. That’s good news at least. Should be interesting to watch this progress.
