Last House director Dennis Iliadis has a horrific Lesson to teach

So what did y’all think of Dennis Iliadis’ rendition of LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT? I was personally biased going in, as I truly deemed Craven and Cunningham’s original version a work not to be trifled with. When I came out of the theater, I was not only pleasantly surprised, I actually found certain parts of the flick to be superior to the 1972 film (though I still prefer it to the remake).

Well, the demented heads over at B-D offered a tasty little drop about Lliadis being set to direct THE LESSON, a remake of the 1971 Austrian thriller UNMAN, WITTERING AND ZIGO directed by John Mackenzie. Not only that, but Christopher B. Landon, the man who wrote DISTURBIA and BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE (and who was attached to the now defunct NEAR DARK remake) is currently penning the screenplay.

The original film, starring David Hemmings (DEEP RED, BLOW UP) and Douglas Wilmer (THE VAMPIRE LOVERS), revolves around a new school teacher who learns that the previous teacher was killed by his pupils, and he fears the same will happen to him.

Nice. Well, not so much if you’re instantly struck with thoughts of that god awful Katie Holmes picture, what was it…TEACHING MRS. TINGLE? Wretched!

THE LESSON will be set up at DreamWorks/Paramount Pictures.

Agnes Bruckner, gorgeous star of BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE!
