There’s no shortage of monster hunters hitting movies and TV, so obviously business is a-boomin’.
The latest to turn otherworldly matters into work (gotta create jobs!) is THE DEMONOLOGISTS, from the recent THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake director Dennis Iliadis and “The Ghost Whisperer” writer Teddy Tenenbaum, who are clearly combining their knowledge of domiciles and the supernatural.
The LA Times says the story “concerns a family of veteran ghost hunters who get more than they bargained for when they are called in to face what they soon realize is not a routine ghost job but a demon infestation.”
If you’re thinking this territory has been sufficiently covered in GHOSTBUSTERS, “Supernatural”, THE FRIGHTENERS, HELLBOY, 13 GHOSTS, “Scooby-Doo” and a dozen or so other things, well… this one has more… um… demons.
THE DEMONOLOGISTS comes from producer Joel Silver, whose last few horror projects included THE REAPING, THE INVASION and ORPHAN. Idialis was apparently also in the running to direct the dubious remake of Hitchcock’s THE BIRDS.
