Two notable days passed by over the weekend, the first being 4/20 and the second being Easter, which fell on April 21st this year. While those who celebrate those days were marking the occasion in their traditional ways, those who make up the marketing team for the upcoming remake of the 1988 classic CHILD'S PLAY were having fun coming up with promotional images that mix the iconic killer doll Chucky with 4/20 and Easter iconography.

For 4/20, the team added a marijuana leaf to Chucky's overalls, and for Easter they implied that Chucky has murdered the Easter Bunny.

I don't think Chucky will be smoking weed in the remake (although we have seen Chucky light up before), and the movie doesn't appear to be set around Easter, this is all just in good fun.

Directed by Lars Klevberg from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith, the new CHILD'S PLAY stars Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman. The story follows

Karen (Plaza), a single mother who gifts her son Andy (Bateman) a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Brian Tyree Henry, Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke are also in the cast.

The new CHILD'S PLAY was produced by David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith through their company KatzSmith Productions. MGM subsidiary Orion Pictures will be releasing the film through their United Artists Releasing banner on June 21st.
