GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY star Lee Pace has looks to keep his intergalactic combat boots on…

Deadline has that Pace has just enlisted in PRISONER OF WAR, replacing CHRONICLE star Alex Russell in the lead role. SKYFALL star Berenice Marlohe (below) is also set to star in the South African shot alien invasion thriller.

To be directed by music video and TV journeyman Joe Miale:

PRISONER OF WAR is the story of an American soldier and a French foreign aid worker who team up in Africa amid humankind’s last stand against a cataclysmic alien invasion.

The lead role continues a hot pace for Lee (ouch), who has both THE HOBBIT: BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES and the untitled Lance Armstrong biopic in post-production. He also stars in the 80s set TV series Halt and Catch Fire, the first season of which just aired last Sunday.

PRISONER OF WAR begins filming this September.
