It’s always a treat to see Michael Berryman pop up in the most random places, specifically of the straight to DVD variety. Best known for his role in the original THE HILLS HAVE EYES, the man has built a career on his unique look, and I’m stoked as hell that he’s still as busy as ever.
According to Bloody-D, Berryman has just signed on to star in Justin Thomas Ostensen’s BELOW ZERO 3D! To beat the elephant in the room, just what in the hell is BELOW ZERO 3D, anyway? Check it: [the film] is the true-life story of Jack the Hack, a screenwriter with writer’s block who arranges to have himself locked in a meat cooler in order to meet a looming deadline. As the temperature drops, the lines between reality and fiction blur, and Jack’s story comes to life, exposing him to a world of horror that only a meat freezer can inspire.
Talk about the craziest writer in history. That dude makes Jack Torrence look normal. Yikes! Cool premise, and in 3D, I can only imagine they have a number of cool (get it!) visuals up their sleeves that will make us cheering for more. And adding Berryman up in the mix definitely adds to the film’s coolness (get it!) level.
