John Leguizamo has joined the cast of THE HAPPENING, the new film by gimmick-ending specialist M. Night Shyamalan. I’ve always respected Leguizamo for his ability to go back and forth between comedy and drama, so hopefully he will be able to add something to the cast that includes Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel.
Leguizamo will play the best friend of Wahlberg’s character, who takes his whole family on the run as a natural disaster threatens the world. The film marks the first R-rated effort of M. Night Shyamalan, which might add that extra spark that the man needs after the dismal LADY IN THE WATER.
