Liam Neeson takes A Walk Among the Tombstones with Lookout director Scott Frank

It seems Liam Neeson can’t get away from kidnappers and murderers these days, so what the hell, he might as well take A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES!

He won’t be strolling alone however, as word has come in that Scott Frank (THE LOOKOUT) will direct the adaptation of Lawrence Block’s popular novel. Danny De Vito’s Jersey Films is co-producing with Double Feature Films. Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures will co-finance, co-produce and co-develop.

Here’s the gist:

Formerly a cop with the NYPD, now an unlicensed private eye and a recovering alcoholic haunted by past mistakes, Matt Scudder (Liam Neeson) is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He operates just outside the law where the police don’t go to track down the kidnappers, who he discovers have been involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders.

Said Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Films:

“We feel like we won the trifecta by getting the one star who is perfect for Scott’s great script that he was born to direct.”

Sounds solid, right? I liked THE LOOKOUT quite a bit, but am a bit worried about Neeson’s typecasting. What says you? Will you be walking among the tombstones with these gents or what?
