Life may find a way as classic Jurassic Park cast return to Jurassic World 3

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Early last year, during the promotional media blitz for director J.A. Bayona's JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM, Jurassic alum and human meme, Jeff Goldblum, hinted that key players belonging to the franchise's original cast could return for a Fallen Kingdom sequel. Shortly thereafter, the suave silver screen Lothario's words quickly spread throughout the blog-o-sphere, giving OG fans of the dinosaur series hope for a glorious reunion in the years to come.

As it happens, news related to this prospect got pretty quiet after Fallen Kingdom roared with a $1.3 billion dollar take at the worldwide box office, but now, thanks to a recent interview with Jurassic alumna Bryce Dallas Howard, talk of Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellen "Ellie" Sattler (Laura Dern), and Goldblum's own Dr. Ian Malcolm returning to the franchise is once again a subject of conversation.

When asked about the trio making their way back to the park for for another chapter of destructive dinosaur shenanigans, Howard told MTV News that she'd love to work alongside the aforementioned stars of the series. “Yes, very much so,” said Howard. “I don’t know what’s been confirmed or whatever, but I’ll blink if it’s happening… maybe…”

You can watch MTV's interview clip with Howard below:

Ahhh, c'mon, Howard, we know a confirmation about something that has yet to be confirmed when we hear one. You're not fooling anybody with your charming ambivalence. Heh. I kid. We really don't have anything but fingers crossed with regard to Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm's return, but seeing as Hollywood is keen on getting bands back together for big screen reunions, I'd say that an OG Jurassic party is a high probability.

For the moment, director Colin Trevorrow is remaining tight-lipped about his Jurassic World follow-up, which will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard starring and acting from a script penned by Trevorrow and PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING scribe Emily Carmichael. The highly-anticipated project is currently set for a June 11, 2021 release in theaters.
