Bret Easton Ellis is crazy popular this week. First, he gets attention for throwing his name into the hat for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Now he’s announced some rather interesting casting, not to mention attention grabbing.
Ellis announced via Twitter that his partially fan funded film, THE CANYONS now had two leads, “Shooting THE CANYONS starring James Deen and Lindsay Lohan: July 9-31 in L.A. Could not have dreamed of a better cast. Lindsay nailed it…”
Lohan and a porn star. Yes, James Deen has starred in a butt ton of adult films. He played Egon in THIS AIN’T NO GHOSTBUSTERS XXX and Moe in SIMPSONS: THE XXX PARODY and some other titles I can’t name on here. Deen has actually been attached since January.
Lohan will play, “Tara, formerly a model, now arm candy, is “beautiful and withdrawn.” She has spirit and intelligence but somewhere along the way she has sold her pride for the material comforts Christian can provide.” Deen plays Christian, “a handsome, fit, a power player and major manipulator. He lives off a trust fund which pays for a house on the beach and dabbles in such avocations as film producing. But mainly it pays for his hedonistic life style. Christian enjoys setting up three-ways and filming them. Yet, despite his philandering ways, he is possessive about his current live-in girlfriend, Tara.”
TAXI DRIVER scribe Paul Schrader will be directing Ellis’ script. Three other leading roles have yet to be cast in the thriller about, “five twenty-something’s quest for power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood.”
