It’s no secret there’s another TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE flick heading our way, lazily titled THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D. We know that already. We also know the flick is going to be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and that Bill Moseley will be starring. What we don’t know is who’ll be distributing this bad larry over in the UK… but we do now!
Alright so it’s not huge news but my gut is telling me TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D is going to be a pretty big deal so I’m gearing up to bring you every piece of TCM3D news that comes our way … starting today. Over at Variety they just dropped word that Lionsgate UK have just snatched up UK distribution rights to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D, which was being shopped around at Cannes by Nu Image/Millennium Films. And that’s all the news we get on that one.
The thing that kind of throws me off is that Variety is claiming Carl Mazzocone will be directing the 3D sequel while it’s previously been reported that John Luessenhop will be helming this one. So which is it: Mazzocone or Luessenhop? Unfortunately there’s no telling who is actually at the helm on this one but hopefully we find out soon.
The story reportedly revolves around a girl who travels to Texas with her friends to collect an inheritance, only to discover that her cousin is none other than Leatherface.
Plans are for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D to shoot later this month in Louisiana so expect a lot more updates soon!
