Liotta/Gallo in Giallo

There’s hardly a better match of director and movie title than Dario Argento andGIALLO. For the uninitiated, a giallo is basically an Italian murder mystery accentuated by intense, surreal violence and bloodshed. See anything by Argento and guys like Mario Bava and Umberto Lenzi to get it (You could even call Brian De Palma an American purveyor in giallo).

Argento has been prepping this flick for a while, and has begun casting. Not surprisingly, his daughter Asia is tipped to star. ShockTillYouDrop is also reporting that Ray Liotta and Vincent Gallo will join the lovely lady as an investigator and a killer, respectively, in this loving homage to the genre Dario knows so well.

The screenplay for GIALLO was written by Sean Keller and Jim Agnew, and the goal is to shoot in Turin next month. This is sounding like a cool project (although I personally can’t stand Gallo), so we’ll keep you in the loop as more information comes in).
