Each year, Netflix and other streaming services continue to up the ante on the quality of their films. In 2018, Netflix had movie theater quality releases like Andy Serkis' MOWGLI, Alfonso Cuaron's acclaimed ROMA, the Sandra Bullock starring horror drama BIRD BOX, and the brilliantly marketed THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX. While Netflix is sure to drop some unexpected releases through 2019, there are already ten on the calendar that range from animated fare for kids to eagerly anticipated dramas that debuted at film festivals last year..

GODZILLA: THE PLANET EATER (January 9th)
Synopsis: Epic re-imagining of the Godzilla world in a futuristic setting that pits humans and robots against the biggest Godzilla ever seen in an interplanetary struggle for survival. With the earth alliance weakened, Haruo weighs siding with the Exif, whose death cult is summoning a monster that can destroy the world.

CLOSE (January 18th)
Synopsis: An adrenaline-pumping action thriller inspired by the life of the world’s leading female bodyguard, Jacquie Davis. VELVET BUZZSAW (February 1st)
Synopsis: A thriller set in the contemporary art world scene of Los Angeles, where big money artists and mega-collectors pay a high price when art collides with commerce. After a series of paintings by an unknown artist are discovered, a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art.
