Logan’s Dafne Keen to star in road trip drama Ana alongside Luiz Guzman

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Fresh after popping her claws for James Mangold's X-men-related masterpiece LOGAN, Marvel's newest pint-sized wunderkind, Dafne Keen, has secured her next starring role in a drama from director Charles McDougal entitled ANA. Keen will lead the film alongside actor Luiz Guzman, as their two characters foster an unlikely bond after Ana meets Rafa (Guzman) in a chance encounter and they embark on a road trip to try and save him from bankruptcy, or worse.

Written by Cris Cole and produced by Luillo Ruiz’ The Pimienta Film Company, ANA is expected to begin shooting next month in Puerto Rico. This will mark the second time that  Ruiz, Cole and McDougall have collaborated on a project after completing MAD DOGS, a series about a group of guys travel to Belize to see an old friend, when things take an unexpectedly dark turn, for Sony and Amazon Studios.

In speaking his excitement to see Keen and Guzman on screen together, Luillo Ruiz commented, "In Ana, these two extraordinary actors will take us on a profound and enthralling journey. Guzman and Keen will make a mesmerizing combo.”

There you have it, folks. Dafne Keen's star is clearly on the rise, and there's no telling what she'll get up to next. Personally, I'd like to see her and STRANGER THINGS actress Millie Bobby Brown together in a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys-style series where the two young ladies solve crimes and get in way over their own heads. Nevertheless, it's great to see that Hollywood is recognizing Keen's stellar performance in LOGAN by offering her more starring roles – she's certainly proven herself worthy of the opportunity.

If for some reason you didn't catch LOGAN when it was playing in theaters, rest assured that the Digital, DVD, and Blu-Ray release for the film is scheduled for May 23, 2017.
