Well here’s a kooky bit of news: E!News is reporting that Lindsay Lohan will be playing “Nancy Pitman” – a member of Charles Manson’s “family” in the film MANSON GIRLS. (So it’s not a sequel to MEAN GIRLS, then…) Apparently, the site reached out to the film’s producer, Brad Wyman, and he confirmed the story.
Here’s E!News’ brief bio of Pitman: Pitman grew up in wealthy household in Malibu, and at 16 she was introduced to Manson by a friend, according to published reports. She fell under his spell, moving in with him and becoming one of his most ardent followers. She was home with Manson on the night he dispatched members of his “Family” to the former home of ex-business associate Terry Melcher, where they ended up brutally killing actress Sharon Tate and four others.
Pitman, aka Brenda McCann, later became involved with the Aryan Brotherhood and served 18 months in prison after being convicted of being an accessory after the fact to murder. She later married one of her co-conspirators, divorced and moved to Oregon with her two children.
Well shoot, that’s one helluva life story right there. Although with the title being what it is, it doesn’t seem likely that we’ll see Pitman’s travels post-Manson Family… Now it will be very interesting to see who gets the role of ol’ Charlie. A few years back, Jeremy Davies (pictured above) took on the “character” for the t.v. movie HELTER SKELTER, and pretty much knocked it out of the park. It’ll be tough topping that, but whoever gets the role will certainly have their tummy full from all of the scenery-chewing they’ll be doing.
