The last update we got on Brian Corder’s CARNIES came back in November 2006. I sh*t you not ladies and gents, November 2006! So where has this little diddy been? In development hell I’m assuming… but today’s the day it claws it’s way out!

We recently scored a press release informing us all that CARNIES has finally found distribution from the guys at R-Squared Films! It’s about time, jeez. To be fair CARNIES isn’t looking like anything special… but hey, I’m sure there are some people out there looking forward to it! The whole three of you… I kid, I kid.

R-Squared Films are planning on releasing this bad boy onto DVD October 12th, 2010. Plans are to also release the feature via Video-On-Demand as well as a limited theatrical release, though dates for those two events haven’t been announced yet. Along with this annoucement we’ve also got a look at some new CARNIES art, found above.

‘Carnies’ follows a traveling sideshow in 1936, when the workers set up their oddities and illusions in another town hit by the dustbowl. However, this town is different, as a sinister force begins to kill off the carnies one-by-one. Detective Ellison is put on the case, looks at several of the carnies, including the mysterious carnival owner, Helen; the strong man, Virgil; and Ratty, the snake handler.

CARNIES is set to star Chris Staviski, Doug Jones, Reggie Bannister, David Markham, Lynn Ayala (below), Denise Gossett and Lee Perkins. So there you have it folks! CARNIES will finally be hitting DVD on October 12th!
