Look of Wonder Woman’s main villain Ares revealed…via toy form

More Wonder Woman news! Yaay!

So, while it's been pretty much an open secret that Ares will be the main antagonist in the WONDER WOMAN film, it still hasn't been officially announced or confirmed by the studio. Don't know why, since Ares, revealed here at the 2017 Toy Fair, looks metal as f*ck:

In other related news, it seems we also have potential casting for Ares. Multiple exclusive sources close to Batman-News have revealed to them that none other than David Thewlis (ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU) will be playing the villain, and "that Ares is a mix of CGI and practical effects, and that he’s the main villain in the movie."

While multiple sources are indeed impressive, we should still take this with a grain of salt for now, until further notice. However, if it is indeed true, this can be pretty cool – since while Thewlis isn't the most intimidating bloke ever, he can probably pull off a great menacing vibe via voice-work while the CG and practical suit do the rest. There's also speculation that the CG-nature of the character is the reason we haven't seen the death metal album cover come-to-life Ares in a trailer yet. Which is definitely a shame.

Anyway, WONDER WOMAN will fly her invisible jet to theaters June 2nd, 2017
