I don’t know how I feel about the straight-to-DVD LOST BOYS 2: THE TRIBE. Alright, I do know: I think it’s gonna be more THE COVENANT than the original THE LOST BOYS, which is a flick I grew up with and still love to this day. I have the feeling LB2 will have none of the spirit or fun of the first one, and will be by-the-numbers obnoxiousness, starring an army of young actors we couldn’t give two flips about.
Alright, I’m judging before seeing it and that’s a no-no, but I’m just relaying my hunch. Anyhow, today the movie finds a writer in Hans Rodionoff, and a director in P.J. Pesce.
Rodionoff wrote THE SKULLS 2, MAN-THING, CLIVE BARKER’S SAINT SINNER, and something called NATIONAL LAMPOON’S BAG BOY… Umm, cool…
Pesce directed SNIPER 3 and FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 3: HANGMAN’S DAUGHTER… Shouldn’t he have waited until LOST BOYS 3?
So there you have it. Moviehole says that Corey Feldman was involved at one point, but that’s not in the cards anymore. Which sucks. I wonder if he saw that script and turned it down. Cuz that would bode REAL well for this movie…Oh, and in this one, apparently the vampires surf. Where’s Johnny Utah when you need him?!
What do you all think of this? Excited? Unimpressed? Couldn’t care less if it were the last movie ever being made? Spit some bullets our way!
