Grindhouse Releasing is resurrecting an Italian horror classic. A CAT IN THE BRAIN, one of the final films from bonkers director Lucio Fulci, is a self-reflexive, personal piece that combines meta horror and typical hyperbolic gore. Not only is it being given a deluxe 3-disc Blu-Ray release (hitting July 12th), the film will be touring U.S. theaters starting June 2nd!

Says Grindhouse Releasing director Bob Murawski (who edited ARMY OF DARKNESS, so he knows what he's talking about): “CAT IN THE BRAIN is my favorite Fulci movie. How could it not be? It’s wall-to-wall gore and stars Lucio Fulci playing himself. It delivers on all levels.”

A CAT IN THE BRAIN:

is a meta-film in which the director appears playing himself, a tortured horror filmmaker who is driven by the violent visions that he experiences both behind the camera and off the set. Feeling like he's losing his grip on reality and disturbed by murderous fantasies, Fulci consults a psychotherapist. The shrink exploits the director's vulnerabilities to his own murderous ends.

The film stars Lucio Fulci himself alongside David L. Thompson and Malisa Longo. Here's the Blu-Ray specs:
