So just last week we were getting teased that Michelle Williams and Mel Gibson may be joining the party for Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE KILLS and now here we are with some rumblings on a couple MACHETE alumns that may be looking to return.
Spreading across the net today is the news that MACHETE stars Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez are both in talks to return for the sequel. Now one can assume they would be reprising their roles as ‘Sartana’ and ‘Luz’ respectively but you never really know with Robert Rodriguez, do you? Let’s be honest – Does it really matter if they’re back as the same characters? Of course not! Any flick that stars both Alba (below) and Rodriguez (above) has me sold from the get-go. The fact that we’re talking about MACHETE KILLS is just icing on the cake.
The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.
We’ll keep our eyes open to see if Alba and Rodriguez do sign onto the film, which currently only has Danny Trejo confirmed to return. Any other news on MACHETE KILLS that spills our way will be brought directly to these pages to be sure to check back soon for more.
