Machete: The Movie?

Before 300, the theater I saw it in over the weekend played the latest trailer for GRINDHOUSE, and from the sounds of it, people are just about as excited as I am for this flick to come out! Cheers, laughs and balls to the wall interest was the buzz after the trailer played it’s course. I guess it’s a good thing that 300 slaughtered the competition, as it’ll likely draw the same crowds (if we’re lucky) to the GRIND.

We got a heads up from CinemaBlend over the weekend, who had the opportunity to check out this year’s SXSW Grindhouse competition, and Q&A with director Robert Rodriguez. Among many awesome things to come out of this, the one that stuck out the most was this: Rodriguez has plans on bringing Danny Trejo back for a full length movie of THEY CALL HIM MACHETE! Check it out: Rodriguez seemed pretty adamant about this, as if the film is already a done deal.

That’s so f*cking cool! One of the images that sticks with me after the trailer (besides Rose McGowan and her kick-ass machine gun leg) is Danny Trejo flying through the air with a chain gun strapped to his motorcycle. And now we’re gonna get to see the whole thing, and not just as a faux-trailer? Even if it is STD, I’m so there!!!

To check out the rest of the report, including the sweet GRINDHOUSE trailers from the contest (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN anyone?), go ahead and click HERE, and prepare for the GRINDHOUSE to hit theaters everywhere April 6th.
