Mad Max 4 on the road!

Sure, he may be all about dancing penguins and superheroes nowadays, but to me, George Miller will always be the bad mofo who staged some of the most brutal and visceral car crashes I’ve ever seen in MAD MAX and THE ROAD WARRIOR (I’ll admit – I’ve never seen THUNDERDOME). Through the years there’s been many-a-rumbling about a fourth entry in the series, but no significant movement. Meanwhile, Miller has busied himself with kiddie fare like the BABE films, and HAPPY FEET (true, Oscar-winning kiddie fare).

Well put on your dancin’ shoes, because it appears that we’re finally going to see a new MAD MAX film. Moviehole is reporting that pre-production is gearing up on MAD MAX: FURY ROAD at 20th Century Fox. Strange timing this, as Miller is currently prepping JUSTICE LEAGUE – the movie that just can’t wait to get made.

It also appears that Mel Gibson won’t be slipping into Max’s leather jacket – a younger face will replace him (ala James Bond). This flick is apparently on the fast track, so we should be hearing more news soon enough. Can’t you just smell the burnt rubber?!
