Mad Max: Fury Road lands a release date

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

If you're anything like me, you've been on pins and needles waiting for word as to when we will finally be able to check out George Miller's MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. After a 6 month shoot in Namibia and South Africa in 2012 we learned that the film would be getting three weeks of additional filming this fall. Now we finally have word as to when this long-awaited and heavily anticipated film will blaze into cinemas.

Variety is reporting that MAD MAX: FURY ROAD will hit screens May 15, 2015. Warners and Village Roadshow will release the film in 3D.

May 15 2015. I'm already marking my calendar.

I'm excited as hell that we're getting another MAD MAX film. I've been stoked about it for years! But I can't deny that I'm disappointed that I still have another year and a half to wait to finally see the film I've been so eager to peep. Yes, I'm fully aware that these things take time, but I'm an impatient bastard and I have rarely, if ever, been this excited for a film.

The film, which follows Max (Tom Hardy) as he encounters a war rig manned by Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) and her posse,  boasts a large ensemble cast that includes Hardy as the titular Max along with Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Courtney Eaton, Josh Helman, Jennifer Hagan, iOTA, John Howard, Richard Carter, Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

With the release date that far off it may be a while until we see a trailer for this badboy. I just want my MAD MAX fix. Guess I'll break out my Blu-ray's of the original trilogy to tide me over for a while.
