Fangoria scored some sweet news today as Mae Whitman, who appeared in INDEPENDANCE DAY, has signed on to do THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, based on the novel by Jack Ketchum.
Apparently the book is about this ‘game’ that the neighborhood kids are playing with the crazy lady down the street. A game that’s deadly and wrong. And yeah, it’s pretty f*cked up, too. Sound like good time? Maybe… maybe not, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Directed by Andrew van den Houten, who directed HOME INVADERS a few years back, THE GIRL NEXT DOOR will aslo star Blanche Baker, who’s starred in everything from SIXTEEN CANDLES to RAW DEAL back in the 80s, but mostly LAW & ORDER stuff these days.
From what I hear, Ketchum’s novel was a terrifying book and seriously f*cked up on all accounts, so let’s just hope it rocks as much as the novel does, right? Right. Go ahead and click HERE for the entire scoop, and stay tuned for more info. on this GIRL NEXT DOOR as we hear it!
