Malcolm back as Loomis

Rob Zombie has updated his Myspace blog for the umpteenth time with more casting news, some of which will be of great importance to you big fans of his HALLOWEEN remake…

There has been great speculation concerning Dr. Loomis’ return, and whether or not Malcolm McDowell will once again play the kooky shrink. Well Zombie puts the speculation to rest with this announcement: Rumors have it that Malcolm will not be returning as Dr. Loomis. Well, as usual the rumors are wrong. Malcolm McDowell will be back and ready to deal with big Mike.

He’s right, you know. I seem to recall some rumors about Zombie swearing he’d never do a HALLOWEEN sequel. Turns out that was bullshit. (Who started those rumors, I wonder…)

In other news, Zombie informs us that Jesse Dayton will be appearing in the flick, as the head of a band called “Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures”. (Dayton was apparently responsible for the “sound” of BANJO and SULLIVAN in DEVIL’S REJECTS, although I can’t honestly recall what that sound is.) As you can see from the H2 promo art above, Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures will be appearing at the “Phantom Jam”, which will most likely be a large set-piece in the film.

H2 comes out on August 28th.
