Remember that recent talk about a remake of the classic 1962 flick THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS? Well in case you were wondering if that project actually had any legs, you need not wonder anymore!
According to Deadline New York progress on the DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS remake just took a huge step forward! You see it seems Mandate Pictures just won the intense auction for the upcoming film and have tapped Sam Raimi’s Ghost House with the task of putting this one together. Raimi and Ghost House partner Rob Tapert are both signed on to produce, with Raimi also eyeing the directing job. Michael Preger, Mark Gordon and Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford are also producing.
TRIFFIDS follows the rise of a devastating and aggressive plant species that travels on three legs and wields a poisonous stinger.
