Mannequin in Static, huh?

Who’s up for some out-there indie thrills? Well, it looks like I’ve got a doozy for you. I mean, just check out the name: A MANNEQUIN IN STATIC. And as of right now, I don’t think this flick is about killer mannequins, which means that the title is some sort of metaphor. Hence, I believe we’re in for a thinkin’-man’s type of genre piece here. And that doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing. Let’s take a leap of faith into the plot:

Haunted by the stigma of their complicated pasts, 17-year-old Alex and his mother, Anne, are starting new lives together. Hidden from the truth, Alex finds himself feeling disconnected from the physical world he lives in and begins finding places to live inside his head through the stories he writes.

Life begins to take a pleasant turn when Alex finds himself falling for his new best friend, Ashley. But as Alex begins to discover the truth about himself and the lies that create the world around him, he finds that he is living alone in his own world. However, the world he has created in his head is soon discovered to be no safer than the world that drove him there.

Alright, well, I’m definitely thinking hard about that synopsis, trying to decipher how this MANNEQUIN will pose. You know what really helps? Going to the flick’s official site and checking out its trailer. The preview is pretty slow and brooding throughout most of its running time, however do stick around until the end when we get some great jolts of horror! Just click here for the site. The flick was written and directed by Josh Hasty. Production has just wrapped. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for any release news.
