Sometimes it feels like THE INCREDIBLE HULK is the bastard stepchild of Marvel's Cinematic Universe since there haven't been that many references to the Louis Leterrier movie in the Marvel films following THE AVENGERS. But apparently the studio was at one point considering bringing back The Abomination for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK star Tim Roth revealed this info in a recent interview with Crave Online, after being asked if there's a chance he could return as the Hulk villain in a future Marvel movie

They were going to do it. They did do that. They were thinking, in The Avengers 2 or something. There was a movie we could do that at one point, but way back when. It just kind of got swept under the carpet I guess. That would be hilarious.

I'm glad to see Marvel hasn't forgotten about THE INCREDIBLE HULK, even though things didn't work out with The Abomination and THE AVENGERS sequel. But what about characters like William Hurt's General Ross, Tim Blake Nelson's Dr. Samuel Sterns (The Leader) and Ty Burrell's Dr. Leonard Samson (Doc Samson)? Does Marvel have any plans involving them, and if so, will the actors reprise their THE INCREDIBLE HULK roles? A new Hulk movie might not be in the works, however that doesn't mean the characters can't appear in a different Marvel movie.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens on May 1, 2015.
