Learning nothing from Hannibal, I was one of those people who turned up my nose at the thought of turning the Coen brothers' FARGO into a television series, but somehow, Noah Hawley was able to put a fresh spin and successfully expand the film in some very entertaining ways. One aspect among the many which elevate Fargo above typical TV fare is the casting, each season has absolutely blown it away in the casting department and the upcoming third is looking to continue that tradition.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 CLOVERFIELD LANE) is the latest actor to join up for Fargo's third season where she'll be playing Nikki Swango, "a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge playing." Nikki is also a woman who always comes armed with a plan and is focused on always being at least one move ahead of her opponents. Fargo's third season cast hasn't completely filled out yet but we do know that Ewan McGregor will be playing the dual role of brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy and Carrie Coon will be playing Gloria Burgle, the chief of the Eden Valley police.

At the moment it looks like Fargo will return to FX in the spring of 2017.
