Anchor Bay Entertainment, ninja to genre releases on DVD, announced today that they’ll be releasing Scott Glosserman’s mocumentary BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON in theaters this coming January!

VERNON tells the tale of one Leslie Vernon, accompanied by a film crew, as he attempts to be like his idols Jason, Freddy and Michael, by preparing to hack and slash through his first night of murder and mayhem. While I haven’t had the pleasure of checking it out yet, I’ve heard only good things about this flick and can’t wait for it to be playing in a theater near me.

But my hopes aren’t up for that, as it’s being released in only 12 major markets, but a guy can dream, can’t he? While that may seem small, it’s the biggest theatrical release by the Bay ever, which just says to me that this flick is as good as everyone is claiming it to be!

Keep your faces peeled here as we wait to see what 12 areas this bad boy will be playing, and watch for BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON in select theaters January 5th. And for more good times, check out the film’s OFFIICIAL SITE.
