Masters of the Universe: Tony Todd’s ScareGlow sounds like the Devil himself

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Kevin Smith serves as showrunner on Netflix's upcoming animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, which is being animated by Powerhouse. Among the show's vocal cast is genre icon Tony Todd, who is voicing Scare Glow, "a ghost who labors in service to Skeletor. He is a skeletal ghost warrior, who seems to have a solid but translucent body, and whose bones emit a strong glow that can intimidate even the bravest opponents. He wears a long purple cape and carries a 'Scythe of Doom'."

A few months ago, Smith praised Todd's Scare Glow performance as "unsettling and commanding". Now Todd has gotten the chance to see some of Scare Glow's scenes, and took to his Twitter account to tell Smith they have a hit on their hands. Smith responded by heaping more praise on Todd, saying he made Scare Glow sound "like the Devil himself".

Now I'm even more hyped to see Scare Glow in action, whenever Masters of the Universe: Revelation reaches the Netflix streaming service (a release date has not yet been announced).

Todd's fellow vocal performers include Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Chris Wood as Prince Adam/He-Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, Stephen Root as Cringer, Griffin Newman as Orko, Henry Rollins as Tri-Klops, Justin Long as Roboto, Jason Mewes as Stinkor, Phil LaMarr as He-Ro, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, Diedrich Bader as King Randor/Trap Jaw, Tiffany Smith as Andra, Susan Eisenberg as Sorceress, Cree Summer as Priestess, Kevin Michael Richardson as Beast Man, Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man, Harley Quinn Smith as Ileena, and original Skeletor Alan Oppenheimer as Moss Man.

A follow-up to the 1980s Masters of the Universe cartoon, Revelation will focus on

the unresolved storylines of the iconic characters, picking up where they left off decades ago.
