Matrix Resurrections poster: Neo ventures down the rabbit hole with a new team

A new poster for The Matrix Resurrections has assembled Neo (Keanu Reeves) and his team for another trip down the rabbit hole. The new Matrix Resurrections poster finds every character clad in black leather attire complete with stylish eyewear. Well, everyone except for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who will play an alternate version of Morpheus in the new film. As fashionable as ever, Mateen II is sporting a red and green ensemble, perhaps to reflect the colors of the pills he offers Neo in the film. His outfit provides a nice splash of color to an otherwise onyx-colored theme.

Per the film’s official synopsis, In a world of two realities—everyday life and what lies behind it—Thomas Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. Choice, while an illusion, is still the only way in or out of the Matrix, which is stronger, more secure, and more dangerous than ever before.

The Matrix Resurrections has done an outstanding job at teasing fans with what’s to come in the new film. Much of the plot remains under wraps, while the trailers have served as delicious bait to lure moviegoers back to theaters. I know a lot of people who say they are willing to break their “No Theaters” policy for this one. In my opinion, everything about this movie screams “You’ve got to see it on the big screen!” I know that I’ll be there opening weekend. Will you?

The Matrix Resurrections is produced, co-written (with David Mitchell & Aleksander Hemon), and directed by Lana Wachowski. The film marks the fourth installment of The Matrix franchise and will see the return of Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, Daniel Bernhardt, and Lambert Wilson. Newcomers to the franchise include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Christina Ricci.

The Matrix: Resurrections hits theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
