McG follows The Babysitter with summer camp alien invasion film

The Babysitter McG

I haven't been a fan of most of director McG's work, but after watching his horror comedy THE BABYSITTER on Netflix last year, I'm totally on board to watch another McG genre film – especially when his next genre film happens to be about an alien invasion at a summer camp. This could be the coolest thing to happen at a camp since Meathead showed up in MEATBALLS PART II!

McG's new movie is called RIM OF THE WORLD, and it was written by Zack Stentz. The story follows

four misfit teenagers who become unlikely allies when their summer camp experience is cut short by an alien invasion. In this epic adventure film, the youths must overcome their fears, tackle insecurities and learn to work as a team while they attempt to save the world.

RIM OF THE WORLD is now filming, and an announcement has revealed the names of several of its stars: Lynn Collins, Annabeth Gish, Michael Beach, Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., King Bach, Alessio Scalzotto, Tony Cavalero, Rudy Mancuso, Carl McDowell, Chris Wylde, David Theune, Punam Patel, and Jason Rogel.

Honestly, Collins, Gish, and Beach are the only ones I know by name, but I didn't need a bunch of famous stars to sell me on this project. All I need to know is that campers are going to be fighting aliens.

McG is producing RIM OF THE WORLD with Mary Viola, Susan Solomon, and Matt Smith. Stentz is executive producing with Brad Mendelsohn, Steven Bello, and Corey Marsh.

Like THE BABYSITTER, RIM OF THE WORLD will be released through the Netflix streaming service.
