Amityville: The Awakening McKenna Grace

Rob Lowe has found the young actress who will play THE BAD SEED in the new version of the classic psychological horror-thriller tale that he's directing, starring in, and executive producing for Lifetime. 11-year-old McKenna Grace is signed on to play his character's homicidal daughter in the film, which centers on

a single father who seems to have everything under control. But when there is a terrible tragedy takes place at his daughter Emma’s school, he is forced to question everything he thought he knew about his beloved daughter. He slowly begins to question if Emma’s exemplary behavior is just a façade and she played a role in the horrific incident. When more strange things begin to happen, he’s faced with keeping a terrible secret to protect Emma, but ultimately must stop her from striking again.

The script was written by VIRAL / WISH UPON's Barbara Marshall.

The name McKenna Grace might sound familiar to genre fans, because the actress already has multiple genre credits to her name. She was in The Vampire Diaries, Bernard Rose's FRANKENSTEIN, INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE, and AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING (pictured above), and also has a part in Mike Flanagan's upcoming The Haunting of Hill House mini-series.

Lowe and Grace will be joined in the cast of this remake by Patty McCormack, who received an Oscar nomination for her performance as the killer child in the 1956 version of THE BAD SEED. It's pretty cool that Lowe decided to bring her back for this one.
