Now that’s more like it! After hearing that Adrien Brody and Topher Grace were set to star in Robert Rodriguez’s PREDATORS we were all a bit worried. But then Danny Trejo joined the cast, which seemed a step in the right direction, and now we have another bit of news that amplifies that sentiment. Jason himself, Derek Mears, will be stomping around the alien jungles as well.
The question now is, what will he play? A Predator or a prey? Of the rumored characters in the script, I could see him as the Russian mob member, but with his previous behind-the-mask work in FRIDAY THE 13TH and THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2, I would think he’s also well suited to be one of the so-called “Super Predators” in the film.
Whatever the case, it’s hard to believe that I’m actually getting this excited for a movie franchise that for all practical purposes, should be dead and buried. But with a solid director, cast and concept, it looks like it’s headed toward Awesometown, though I guess only time will tell.
