Meet Grant Ward, one of ABC and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this featurette

Comic Con is going to be a hotbed of Marvel news and you can be sure there will be a lot of push behind ABC’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Spinning off of THE AVENGERS and featuring fan favorite Clark Gregg returning as Agent Phil Coulson should guarantee a hit show, but Disney wants to lure in those who are not yet fans of the superhero movies.

This first featurette bills itself as “Level 7 Access” in what I am sure will be a series of short videos on each member of Coulson’s team. First up is Agent Grant Ward played by Brett Dalton. Here he gives some insight into his character and promises that “fans are going to love this”. Hopefully he is right.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. looks like a cross between Joss Whedon‘s BUFFY and DOLLHOUSE with a little bit of THE X-FILES and FRINGE thrown in for good measure. The cast seems decent if not completely generic, but it is too early to tell what kind of chemistry the show may have. Keep an eye out for more from the series during our coverage of Comic Con next week.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays on ABC starting this Fall.
