From THE 4TH REICH to THE 25TH REICH…what the hell happened to the 21 other squadrons?
All jesting aside, we just caught wind of a wild new genre mash-up called THE 25TH REICH, which comes from Aussie writer/director Stephen Amis. As you can sense from the ludicrous headline, the film fuses WWII tropes with that of sci-fi time travel and alien abduction. A perfect blend, wouldn’t you say…
Co-written with Amis by Serge De Nardo and David Richardson, THE 25TH REICH goes down like this:
Five American GI’s stationed in Australia in 1943 find themselves embroiled in a secret OSS time-travel mission that goes horribly wrong. The hapless soldiers are catapulted 50,000 years back in time, to retrieve an alien spaceship that might help the Allies win the war against Hitler.
After a double-cross leaves them stranded in the past, the remaining soldiers finally manage to fix their own wrecked time machine, only to overshoot 1943 by 300 years… where they discover a strange and horrific new world, where the Nazi’s have won the war and enslaved the planet. Not only have they taken over the Earth, they are now preparing to overthrow God in the 25th dimension!
How can five hapless GI’s save the future – the past – and every moment in between?!
Jim Knobeloch, Jak Wyld, Serge De Nardo and Angelo Salamanca star in the film, which is produced by Lightning Entertainment.
