Well that didn’t take very long…

Only two days after hearing A&E picked up a 4-part miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s “Bag of Bones,” we now have a new starring name. How does the gorgeous Melissa George sound?

Deadline has it that the lovely George (pictured) will indeed star in the mini, directed by Mick Garris. She’ll join Pierce Brosnan and Annabeth Gish.

Scripted by Matt Venne, “Bag of Bones” centers on ‘Mike Noonan’ (Brosnan), a man who is unable to stop grieving for his wife (Gish), who died suddenly. After returning to the lakeside retreat they shared, he inadvertently gets involved in a local custody battle with an attractive young widow (George) – while having nightmares about his dead wife.

“Bag of Bones” will be released over the course of two-nights, each stint two hours long. No telling just when we’ll be able to unzip the bag…but if you want to know, keep it close.
