Are you guys psyched that THE MESSENGERS 2: MESSENGERS HARDER is coming out on DVD this summer? Actually, the real title is MESSENGERS 2: THE SCARECROW, but for some reason, I found it fitting to use that initial moniker. Anyways, I hope you all checked out the prequel’s trailer, which my man, Eric, bestowed upon you right here. It doesn’t look too bad; just your standard genre fare. Up top, you can have a look at the DVD artwork for the flick. Why am I suddenly thinking of JEEPERS CREEPERS? Oh well, at least it appears to be rated R. Here’s M2: TS’s plot:

This is the story of John Rollins – a simple North Dakota farmer, struggling to save his farm and hold his family together. When he places a mysterious scarecrow in his field, his luck changes for the better…but it may be at the cost of his sanity.

So there you have it! It’s a prequel centering John Corbett’s character from the first one only John Corbett isn’t in this one. Make sense? Does the notion of a second MESSENGERS make sense too? Well, this flick was directed by Martin Barnewitz and stars Claire Holt, Norman Reedus, Michael McCoy, and Erbi Ago. The DVD comes out on July 21st.
