Yes, you read that title right. According to BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT star Michael Caine, Mr. Christopher Nolan is gearing up to start production on BATMAN 3 this coming April. That’s nine months away, for anyone who’s counting. The question is… Do we believe him?
Michael Caine isn’t the most reliable source we’ve seen, actually the man has said things in the past that’ve been proven to be complete bullsh*t. Now it’s unknown whether Caine does this on purpose just to mess with us overzealous fans or if he means it, but the fact is the man said it, so we’ve got to take notice! Of course this time last year Gary Oldman was saying BATMAN 3 would start filming in 2010 and obviously that won’t be happening. So go ahead and watch the video below and hear it come straight from Caine’s mouth! Then decide for yourself if you’re going to believe him or not. Personally I’m going to wait until Nolan steps onto the set of BATMAN 3 before I get excited for this one.
One good thing about a BATMAN 3 story is that it gives us a reason to speculate as to where Nolan will be taking Gotham and The Caped Crusader. Will Batman be doing battle against Philip Seymour Hoffman’s ‘Penguin?’ Or perhaps he’ll be outwitted by Johnny Depp’s ‘The Riddler?’ I know! Angelina Jolie’s ‘Catwoman’ is going to sink her claws into this one! The theories are endless so be a sport and shoot yours below!
