Michael Shannon on the list to possibly play the villain in Superman: The Man of Steel

So far we have our Superman (Henry Cavill), Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), and Martha Kent (Diane Lane).

Which role will be filled next?

Deadline reports that Warner Bros, Legendary Pictures, and director Zack Snyder are now focused on casting the villain for SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL.

Who are they looking at? Deadline says that there is a great deal of interest in Michael Shannon (BOARDWALK EMPIRE, REVOLUTIONARY ROAD). Of course, there was no mention of a specific villain. No other details were given either. Earlier today, Latino Review got a scoop from their insiders that Edgar Ramirez (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, VANTAGE POINT) was also being looked at for the part of the baddie.
