Michelle Monaghan has joined the cast of director Zoe Lister-Jones' remake of the 1996 cult favorite witch movie THE CRAFT. Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but we know her co-stars will include Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, and David Duchovny.

13-year-old actor Julian Grey, whose credits include the TV shows Wayward Pines and Godless, also recently signed on to appear in the film.

This new take on THE CRAFT is currently filming and has the following synopsis:

When starting at a new school, Hannah befriends Tabby, Lourdes, and Frankie & quickly becomes the fourth member of their clique. Hannah soon learns that she somehow brings a great power to the quartet.

A Golden Globe nominee for her work on the first season of True Detective, Monaghan has racked up nearly 50 screen acting credits since 2000. Among those are Shane Black's KISS KISS BANG BANG, GONE BABY GONE, and three films in the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE franchise. She's a great addition to any project she's in, so I'm glad to hear she's going to be in this movie.

Blumhouse's Jason Blum is producing THE CRAFT with Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher's Red Wagon Entertainment. Red Wagon's Lucas Wiesendanger serves as executive producer alongside the first film's director Andrew Fleming. THE CRAFT is being financed by Blumhouse and Columbia Pictures.
