Michelle Pfeiffer confronts Jennifer Lawrence in mother! clip

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Lots of questions swirl around Darren Aronofsky’s new horror film mother! Like, why is the title all lower case letters with an exclamation point at the end, and is it a quasi-remake of Roman Polanski’s ROSEMARY’S BABY? Before we can start getting answers, we’ll have to keep on theorizing. Thanks to a new clip released by Paramount, we’ve got one more clue to work with.

In the clip below, Michelle Pfeiffer gently confronts Jennifer Lawrence on the topic of children. Sounds innocuous enough, but clearly something sinister is already afoot!

Here’s the film’s synopsis (again, all lower case letters):

a couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence. from filmmaker darren aronofsky (black swan, requiem for a dream), mother! stars jennifer lawrence, javier bardem, ed harris and michelle pfeiffer in this riveting psychological thriller about love, devotion and sacrifice.

mother! opens on September 15th. And if you want to trip out a little, give the film’s official site a gander HERE.
