Today, Anchor Bay announces the release of MASTERS OF HORROR Season 1 on DVD will include Miike’s IMPRINT, the recently banned from TV episode. I don’t know about you, but it just pisses me off that Showtime would stoop down that low and censor what their money payin’ subscribers can watch. But I am stoked Anchor Bay isn’t gonna bitch out like those punks.
But you have to wonder what Miike’s thinking through all this:
“To tell you the truth, I was not surprised to hear that ‘Imprint’ would not air. Through the experience of directing this episode, I have discovered that while humor can have its limits, fear has no limits. I could not suppress the volume of terror that this film conveys.”
Sounds like IMPRINT may be the worth picking up this DVD alone! I know the guy’s talking about a movie he directed, but this episode sounds great! Damn Showtime for being a bunch of uncle f*ckers… damn them all to HELL!!!
The DVD is set to come out Fall 2006, and more specifically, the IMPRINT episode will have a galla of special features, including exclusive behind the scenes footage, trailers, stills and more. Too bad we have to wait 10 months to see it!
