2016 is The Year of Mike Flanagan. It started with the release of his well-received home invasion film HUSH back in April and will culminate with him hopefully redeeming the OUIJA franchise with OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL in October. In between we have the release of his long-awaited thriller BEFORE I WAKE

Starring Kate Bosworth, Thomas Jane, Annabeth Gish, Dash Mihok, and Jacob Tremblay, BEFORE I WAKE tells the following story:

Jessie and Mark decide to take in a sweet and loving 8-year-old boy, Cody.  Unbeknownst to them, Cody is terrified of falling asleep. At first, they assume his previous unstable homes caused his aversion to sleep, but soon discover why: Cody's dreams manifest in reality as he sleeps. In one moment they experience the incredible wonder of Cody's imagination, and in the next, the horrific nature of his night terrors. To save their new family, Jessie and Mark embark on a dangerous hunt to uncover the truth behind Cody's nightmares.

Relativity Studios will be releasing BEFORE I WAKE into theatres on September 9th. Even though we just got a trailer for the film earlier this month, the company is keeping the promotional train rolling with a new, shorter trailer that can be viewed below.

I'll check out anything Flanagan makes and BEFORE I WAKE looks very intriguing to me, so I will definitely be watching this one in September.
