Yesterday we reported that Netflix had acquired the intriguing new MIke Flanagan thriller HUSH. Well now, Netflix has released the trailer for your waiting eyes. It doesn't utilize sound design as well as I hoped it might, but it's just a trailer. I hope the movie has a more intriguing soundscape to represent the main character's deafness, much in the way that GRAVITY utilized the fact that there was no sound in space to stage massive special effects sequences as intimately terrifying spectacles.

Nevertheless, I'm still ready to check this one out. See the trailer below!

After losing her hearing as a teenager, author Maddie Young has lived a life of isolation fully retreating into her now silent world. When the masked face of a psychotic killer appears in the window of her secluded home, she must push herself beyond her mental and physical limits in order to survive the night.

HUSH stars co-writer Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr. (SHORT TERM 12), Samantha Sloyan (PLUS ONE), and Michael Trucco (NEXT). HUSH will premiere this weekend at SXSW before hitting Netflix on April 8th.
