Naomi Watts and Annette Bening have signed on to topline the drama MOTHER AND CHILD. Under writer/director Rodrigo Garcia, the story follows two women – one who gave up her daughter 35 years ago and another who is looking to adopt (Kerry Washington). There’s a lot more emotional complexity to the story, of course. Shareeka Epps also stars. BABEL and 21 GRAMS director Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu will executive produce the project. Production is expected to begin early next year in and around LA. Watts can next be seen taking down shady international banks alongside Clive Owen in the thriller THE INTERNATIONAL and giving therapy to Nicole Kidman in the drama NEED. Bening was most recently in the dramedy THE WOMEN.
